About Blog of Sound

Blog of Sound, 2007The Blog of Sound isn't quite what it sounds like it should be. Started in June of 2007, the Blog of Sound made its debut as an as-the-moment hits independent music commentary blog hosted on Wordpress. After one chaotic year as a blog that would go neglected for weeks on end we decided to make the leap from blog to webzine. And what a jump it was.

Founder, editor, publisher, and all around workaholic Laura Robida purchased the Blog of Sound domain name, designed a website and started writing content for the first monthly deadline. She brought on an aspiring podcaster to breathe some weekly life into the site and slowly found on again, off again contributors. She never expected the Blog of Sound to turn into a premier monthly webzine for independent and unsigned bands, let alone be sitting at the keyboard designing a better-than-ever website and filling up a store with Blog of Sound merchandise. How did that happen?

No one is really certain how it happened but it did. And now, nearly three years after its initial inception, the Blog of Sound is here to stay. It's your monthly source for all music independent and unsigned. It's the BOS.
