“Round & Round”
The Donnas featuring Stephen Pearcy

Coming off their Feather Nation Tour in support of 2008’s “Bitchin’,” The Donnas had spent more than a few nights blowing crowds away with their cover of Ratt’s “Round & Round.” When the band announced they had teamed up with Stephen Pearcy to re-record the song, fans expected a great song. What they got was so much better. “Round & Round” features alternating vocals between Donnas frontwoman Brett Anderson and Pearcy and the scorching guitars of Allison Robertson. If you’re looking for a great song drop into The Donnas’ Myspace page where the song is streaming at www.myspace.com/thedonnas

“Kill Her Off”
The Ropes

If grooving basslines are more your style you should be checking out “Kill Her Off” by New York’s The Ropes. It’s got the electro-pop techno styles more associated with post 1995 Madonna but is remarkable rocking. But The Ropes are more than techno candy, this is a band with a lot to offer but we have to admit that “Kill Her Off” has gotten stuck in our heads and we like it there. “Found Myself Today”
A Change of Pace

Pop-rock and pop-punk aren’t going anywhere. You can thank Good Charlotte for that if you must place blame somewhere but before you dismiss the whole genre take a listen to Arizona’s A Change of Pace. Their track “Found Myself Today” has a great riff and simplistic rhythms. This is a song with all the makings of a Top 40 rock hit and we’re glad we stumbled upon this band in one of our many Interweb explorations. Check them out at www.myspace.com/achangeofpace

“Big Hair Revolution”
The Exploders

Over the last few years Australia has produced some pretty great rock and roll. The Exploders are no exception. In fact, we dig this band so much they’re one of our featured Indie Noise artists for this month. We’re quite fond of their track “Big Hair Revolution” which is everything a good rock song should be. Featuring a great guitar riff and big drums, “Big Hair Revolution” is one of the many gems that The Exploders feature on their Myspace page. You can check them out at www.myspace.com/theexploders.

“Away Away”
Push Play

If “Found Myself Today: wasn’t enough pop-rock for you, then you might check out New York’s Push Play and their newest single “Away Away.” A slightly more rockin’ version of the Jonas Brothers with a great deal more talent, this quartet has some really great pop-rock songs and “Away Away” may be the best we’ve heard from them so far. You can check out all Push Play has to offer by visiting www.myspace.com/pushplayrox
